Dear Friends...

Saturday 28 Jun 2008, 09:49 AM
So many people look at Brian and Roger as if they are blood sucking demons. While the two may not be perfect, I doubt they are primarily trying to suck the money and pride out of their fans. It is not a shun for these gentlemen to want to make music together, because they have been doing it almost their entire career -- even before they met Freddie and John. And, as so many have protested, the Queen name should have died the moment Freddie died. That makes very little sense to me. Brian and Roger were just as much Queen as the others were. John had the choice of staying with the band, but he decided against it for personal reasons. He accepts what Brian and Roger are doing. As for Freddie, he must have known his band mates wouldn't lay under a rock after his death. I couldn't see him giving a damn about what goes on with the entitlement of the band afterwards -- it is only common sense for them to carry the torch that is Queen. No sense in pouring water over it!

I apologize for not having posted on my webblog in the past couple of weeks. I have been quite busy practicing my trumpet, spending time with my girlfriend, and trying to enjoy life outside the realm of virtual reality. Also, the recent inability to give and receive comments was such a drag, that I just didn't feel like posting. Fortunately, however, as we all know, that problem has been fixed, and in addition, the website appears to be in great shape finally.
My second semester of college is finished (I earned a 4.00 GPA, again) and I finally have time to study music more intimately. Also, I am taking a Statistics course over the summer, as well as a Health course. I figure I should get a job, and also start taking private lessons for the trumpet eventually. I actually despise not keeping busy. Being bored is the worst disease of all.

Please leave any comments you might have so I know you guys are still alive. Oh, and here is a little something to thank you for visiting:

I apologize for not having posted in quite some time.  I have been very busy preparing for my final examinations, which are to begin tomorrow as a matter of fact.  They shall last all the way until next Wednesday, which should be the 14th of May if I'm not mistaken.  I swear my brain is on mental meltdown.  What kills me the most, however, is knowing that directly after my finals I start two brand new courses for the summer session.  I shall be taking Introductory to Statistics and then Health.  Ah, but all that is boring, if not depressing.

I have failed to familiarize myself with all of you on a more personal level.  Therefore, I have posted the following picture in order to enlighten you of my insane personality.  The woman to the left is my adorable girlfriend.  Perhaps I shall one day present to you an appropriate picture of us.

I cringe at the very thought of your comments, but nevertheless, let me have them!

Just a few days ago I got to see One Night of Queen performed by Gary Mullen and The Works.  To put it quite simply, it was phenomenal.  Gary Mullen did a wonderful impersonation of the late great Freddie Mercury, and the best part was that he didn't rip him off either.  The show simply paid tribute to Queen in a respectful fashion.  It was everything I expected, and more.

This, of course, was the first concert that I have ever gone to that had any sort of relation to Queen.  I had never been around so many Queen fans before, and it felt terrific.  I spoke to a fan that has followed Queen since 1973.  He actually had the Queen crest tatooed to his upper right arm.  And, of course, I actually got to meet Mr. Gary Mullen himself.

I got his autograph on the tour t-shirt and on the Live in Edinburgh compact disc.  Additionally, I shook his hand, had a quick chat, and then got my picture taken with him (along with my girlfriend of course!).  He was such a nice man.  Kind, exciting, generous, attentive, and hilarious.  All in all, I recommend seeing Gary Mullen and The Works.  I almost felt like I was actually at a Queen show.

Let me start by saying I'm quite thankful for all those who have read my weblog thus far.  My true intention for this web page is to write of my inner contemplations and theories.  I suppose the number one thing you should know about me is that I enjoy pondering upon philosophical concepts.

I'm almost positive many of you will, or have already thought of me as a self-righteous jerk.  The thing is, you might be right.  In fact, my girlfriend has even told me I can be quite the pain in the ass.  For example, a friend of my girlfriend's went about saying she had witnessed an actual ghost in the church she went to (my girlfriend goes there too, and I occasionally go there as well).  My initial reaction is to not accept any form of second hand testimony and immediatly question her story.  And so I did.  I came up with several alternative theories to the ghost she had seen in the worship room.  I suppose I took it too far and my girlfriend squeezed my arm or something.  It turns out I might have hurt her friend's feelings; for she supposedly believes in life after death, and most importantly a connection between those who have passed away and those who are of the living.   Needless to say I felt like a jerk afterwards.

On a lighter note, here is a video of Queen performing 39' live at the Concert For Kampuchea on December 26, 1979.  In the first few moments you might hear Roger Taylor Yeeeeha-ing.  Enjoy!

As always, I appreciate any comments; negative or positive!

Welcome to the new and updated version of my weblog.  I have decided to write in it at least once every two weeks in order to not only acquire your interest, but to, most importantly, release inner conflicts and contemplations.  If you have any questions or comments please share them with me.  I wouldn't mind establishing a friendship with you.  :)

The Politician Story

I have always disliked politicians, and most importantly, political parties.  I could go into great detail how immoral political parties are and how they were never meant to be under the instruction of our founding fathers in America, but I shall leave that for another entry, if I so desire.  Anyway, I had the unique oppurtunity in meeting with an aspiring politician.  He's a man in his early thirties majoring in political science.  He explained to me "I want to be an honest politician.  I want to make a difference."  At that point in the conversation I thought he truly was an incredible individual.  He's wise, witty, and entertaining.  However, he then said that "Prior to my retirement I hope to commit a scandalous act so that I will be remembered and be reported in school textbooks."  Thus adds onto my dislike of both aspiring and present politicians.
